As well as being able to order furniture directly from an extensive portfolio of work, it is also possible to commission Stephen O'Briain to design and build a piece specifically for you.

A large proportion of the work created in Stephen O'Briain's workshop are one-off pieces, designed and built for the individual client, private or commercial. After contacting us it may be necessary to arrange an appointment to drop out to the workshop or have Stephen come visit you at your home to discuss your specific requirements. It's almost always preferable, if possible, to see the space the piece is being designed for.

It normally takes a couple of weeks to put together a proposal consisting of three dimensional drawings, samples of different woods and finishes, cost and likely delivery time.

At this point should you decide to proceed, a 30% security deposit is taken and you will be advised of the delivery date. Lead times vary, normally between six and eight weeks but occasionally longer depending on how busy the workshop is and the scale of the project. Visits to the workshop to see the work in progress, or just out of curiosity, are always welcome.

Each unique piece of furniture, from the smallest cabinet to large boardroom tables, made at Stephen O'Briain's workshop is built to the highest standard using traditional techniques and top quality materials. Commissioning a one-off piece may not be for everyone but the piece will be something truly original and you can be assured of the highest quality.
